FATHER AND SON

An old Italian gentleman lived alone in New Jersey . He wanted to plant his annual tomato garden, but it was very difficult work, as the ground was hard. His only son, Vincent, who used to help him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament:

Dear Vincent,
I am feeling pretty sad because it looks like I won't be able to plant my tomato garden this year. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot.
I know if you were here my troubles would be over. I know you would be happy to dig the plot for me, like in the old days.
Love,
Papa

A few days later he received a letter from his son.

Dear Papa,
Don't dig up that garden. That's where the bodies are buried.
Love,
Vinnie

At 4 a.m. the next morning, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up
the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologized to the old man
and left.
That same day the old man received another letter from his son.

Dear Papa,
Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now.
That's the best I could do under the circumstances.
Love you,
Vinnie

A SHORT STORY OF A MOUSE TRAP

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package."What food might this contain?" the mouse wonder. He was devastated to discover it was a mouse trap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed this warning:
"There is a mouse trap in the house! There is a mouse trap in the House!"

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said"Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me, I can't be bothered by it."

The mouse turned to the pig and told him "There is a mouse trap in the house!".
The pig sympathized, but said " I am very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but that is nothing I can do about it but pray and be assured you are in my prayer.

The mouse turned to the cow and warned him about the mouse trap.
The cow said,"Wow, Mr. Mouse, I am sorry for you, but its no skin off my nose."
So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mouse trap .....ALONE...

That very night,
a sound was heard throughout the house -- the sound of a mouse trap catching its prey.

The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it, it was a venomous snake whose tail was caught in the trap.

The snake bit the farmer's wife.

The farmer rushed her to the hospital. When she returned home, she still had a fever. Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup.

So the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.

But his wife's sickness continued, friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.

But alas, the farmer's wife did not get well...she died.

so many people came for that funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them for the funeral luncheon.

And the mouse looked upon it all from the crack in the wall, with great sadness.

So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and you think it doesn't concern you, REMEMBER HIM .....

When anyone of us is threatened, we are all at risk. We are all involved in this journey called LIFE. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an effort to encourage one another.
